"How to Succeed as a Freelance Translator" by Corinne McKay: A Review
Corinne's fantastic book is a great introduction to the industry. This was one of the first books on the business of freelance translation I read when I was getting started.
This book covers practical subjects related to running a freelance translation business. It also explains common industry practices.
The book includes sections on topics such as developing a CV and cover letter, marketing, finding the best clients. It also looks at aspects such as setting up a functional home office, networking and social media. Corinne has packed an awful lot of useful information into this book.
I highly recommend it as a starting point for those who are new to the industry, as well as for experienced translators who may well pick up a few tips!
